The Challenge:
Direct Imports UK supplies products and services into the wholesale and hospitality industry. Following years of success with aerosols, they developed a range of household cleaning liquids with huge success.
To keep up with continuing increases in demand, Direct Imports moved into new premises to pack these products and continue with the expansion of the business.
It was at this time that Direct Imports contacted Universal looking for a machine to fill Household and Cleaning products into 500ml to 5000ml containers.
Direct Imports needed a flexible machine that could handle a wide range of products and viscosities.

The Solution:
Universal recommended the PB5000 twin head semi-automatic volumetric filling machine. Originally designed to fill bleach and acid using PVC and Glass contact parts, this machine can also be used to fill a wide range of household and general cleaning products. Providing excellent repeatability, the PB5000 has simple user friendly operation and comes with its own portable cabinet with braked castors for full mobility.
ATEX Certified, the machine also has the added benefit of being modular in design, so can be automated at a later date.
Available in both single and twin head versions, Universal recommended the twin to cope with increasing demand.
Other alternatives:
The Posifill V Twin can also be used for filling General Household products but into smaller containers. In fact Direct Imports has recently taken delivery of their second Universal machine, a new Posifill V Twin, to fill containers of 100ml to 1000ml in size.
The Pneumatic “no drip” nozzles are also proving to be a welcome addition.
We chose Universal again because the first machine we purchased in 2014, a PB5000, has been very successful for us. Also the aftersales service and technical support has proved to be invaluable with spare parts arriving the following day!
