Case Study – Bodywise

The Challenge:

Bodywise has been a client of Universal Filling Machine Company for more than 15 years and has several liquid filling machines including a Posimatic VH 6 head fully automatic filling machine. For many years they have manually placed and tightened the caps by hand. It was always a long term view that when production levels and investment allowed, they would automate this part of the operation. Bodywise uses two types of cap – flip top cap and hand pump – and it was important that the machine could handle both types of cap.

The Solution:

Universal supplied a Beltorque automatic cap tightening machine as well as a Vibratory Bowl Feeder to sort, feed and place the caps. The existing conveyor was extended slightly to accommodate the new machine.

Other alternatives:

A Posicap automatic capping machine would also have been suitable for Bodywise’s needs.

We have had a successful working relationship with Universal Filling Machine Company for many years. They understand our business and know what is important to us. The machine took only a day to install and on day two we were up and running. The new machine has allowed us to speed up the production process as well as freeing up an operator and their time is now spent doing more important things.
