Case Study – Roar Advanced Finishing Ltd
The Company has invested heavily into research and development, fully automated computer controlled manufacturing and an offsite technical training centre.
Location: Ripley, Derbyshire, United Kingdom
The Challenge:
The Company contacted Universal in 2014 seeking a filling machine that would fill a wide range of products for car valeting. The machine would need to handle a wide range of liquid viscosities from free flowing screen wash through to viscous polishes into containers ranging from 100ml up to 5 litres in size. Accuracy, speed and cleanliness of fill were also key considerations.
Products to fill:
- Polishes
- Scratch Remover
- Waxes
- Wipes
- Screen Wash
The Solution:
Following successful trials using the customer’s liquids and containers, they purchased a Posifill EF semi-automatic volumetric filling machine. Manufactured with a 1-litre cylinder, the machine was capable of filling a wide range of container shapes with 100ml to 1000ml fills. Larger fill sizes up to 5 litres were achieved by cycling the machine up to 5 times. The machine was supplied with Universal’s pneumatically operated rotary ball valve suitable for filling the widest range of liquid viscosities, along with a hopper feed for semi-viscous liquids and a feed-pipe assembly suitable for drawing free flowing liquids from a container at floor level.
The Posifill EF bench top filler was configured to fill an extremely wide range of liquid viscosities, container sizes and container shapes.
Other alternatives:
The Posifill V Twin would also have been suitable for filling this range of products.
