The Challenge:

In 2009 Magnaflux purchased a Posifill V Twin semi-automatic liquid filling machine to fill their chemical inspection products. They used the machine successfully for 5 years, before deciding that the time was right for an upgrade and to automate the filling process. They were using a single operator to carry out both filling and capping operations, which was slow.

The Solution:

Universal Filling Machine Company was able to utilise the client’s existing twin head filling machine and incorporate this into their Posimatic EV1000 bottle handling module to form a fully automatic liquid filling solution. This was done in conjunction with a “U” shaped conveyor layout, which enabled a single operator to load empty bottles and place the caps after they had been filled.

Output speeds have doubled without any increases in labour costs making the production process more efficient. Further upgrades in the future are likely to include increasing the number of filling heads from 2 to 4. The ability to adapt the Universal machines to meet increasing future demands is a huge plus and the machines are designed to make these upgrades as simple as possible.
